Christmas & Closing
Dear friends,
We have so much to be grateful for this holiday season as we prepare to move the bookstore to its new home. Thanks to all of you and an influx of offline donations, we reached our moving fundraiser goal, and then some! We won a major award! And we have a great friend coming to visit tomorrow for our last book event of the year.
Literary Crafternoon tomorrow!
Join us at 2 pm at Fired Up Studio to congratulate MUW alumna Beth Kander on her new novel I Made It Out of Clay. This sweet holiday-themed romcom just hit the USA Today Bestsellers List — woohoo!
RSVP online if you can come so we can prepare an ornament painting station for you. You choose whether your ornament is a golem (like in the book) or a gingerbread man. :)
Did someone say moving sale??
Yes! We're extending Frequent Flyer Day until Christmas Eve AND we're letting everyone in on the deal.
Starting today, the green room is 15% off for all your favorite fantasy, scifi, romance, mystery, and horror. There is some really cool stuff in there, like the new Brandon Sanderson Wind and Truth and signed copies of Keanu Reeves' collab with China Mieville — but once they're gone, they're gone! (If you are not local and you want either of these, call us at 662-570-4247 and we'll hook you up.)
Next Monday, everything goes on sale for 20% off. We are going to be in moving mode, so please come take some books off our hands and lighten our load! Tuesday is our last business day and we will close early at 2 pm for Christmas Eve.
And then?!
Many of you have asked if you can help us move, which is just so kind. We are going to rally on December 27 for “Boxing Day after Boxing Day,” a community book packing party. Starting at 10 am, we'll have coffee, donuts, and one last chance to grab books on sale before we box them all up.
We will reopen in mid-January, but don't fret! While we are temporarily closed, you can still order books through us online at Bookshop.org. Our staff just posted our Top 5 picks of the year and we'd love to know who your favorite is.
We are also working on all of the donor rewards from our IndieGoGo fundraiser. Unfortunately, our shipments are all running behind schedule, so our perks might be more New Year's gifts rather than Christmas presents. We appreciate everyone's patience and we'll be in touch with all of you with a status update!
Thank you again for all of your support this year. We can't wait for y'all to see everything in store for us in 2025.
Happy reading,
Emily and Team FCB
