Events and Moving

Dear friends,

It's a big week for us here at Friendly City Books! We're saying goodbye to our current location, and we're throwing the best ever going away party tomorrow with our friends at the Columbus Arts Council.

Thursday, February 12: Mississippi Delta Blues

  • 5:30 pm Book talk with W. Ralph Eubanks, author of When It's Darkness on the Delta, with C. T. Salazar

  • 6:30 pm Book signing and complimentary hors d'oeuvres and refreshments

  • 7:00 pm Live music by Edna Nicole and Rev. Slim

Location: Columbus Arts Council, 501 Main Street

Saturday, February 14: Be Our Valentine

February 14 is our last day of business at 423 Main Street. To thank you for your support, you'll score a $5 coupon to come to our grand re-opening when you shop with us (starting now!) or volunteer before the lights go out. Plus, get 20% off a Frequent Flyer membership!

Sunday, February 15 is our big book moving day, and we'd love to have lots of volunteers. Meet us at 2:00 pm at 423 Main Street, and we'll go until it gets dark. Please bring small or medium boxes and furniture moving equipment like a dolly or handtruck if you can.

Monday, February 16 is shelf day! We'll start at 10:00 am dismounting, moving, and remounting the shelves. BYOPT (bring your own power tools) and a dolly or handtruck if possible. This will also serve as a makeup day in case of rain on Sunday.

As a thank you, volunteers get a free book from our stash of review copies, in addition to our coupon and the membership sale. We are happy to give students credit for volunteer hours!

We'll be back!

Saturday, February 28 is the date for our grand re-opening at 109 5th Street North! Until then, you can shop with us at Bookshop.org (including e-books) or get audiobooks from Libro.fm.

Happy reading,

Emily
